My untimely demise

Well as a technician at Circuit City came the 5th of March, I entered the unemployment lines but could not collect unemployment due to the fact that I was a student and would not be willing to drop out of school. I graduated in June with my friends and my girlfriend Serina. It was a long day but it was a good experience to participate in the ceremony, I hung out with my friends at Logan's house until a man-hunt for someone involved in a hit and run accident influenced us to go to his sister house. I remained unemployed until now, I work at Sears in "Home Improvement". Actually I started 4-5 day's ago I finnished training today and I start working commision tomorrow, i personaly am excited. I really enjoy working. Other then that things are going well, I've decided to start going PCC in winter term and move to portland a few days into January. I'll probably be living with Serina or Serina, My Sister, and Her Boyfriend

Updates

Well It's been a while since I've posted any sort of update or anything so here's what's been going on.

I got canned at Circuit City, my first job, last Sunday. So now I get to work the unemployment lines. Honestly it is one of the most depressing things that has ever happened. Not because I need the money, don't get me wrong, I do have bills and other expenses so no job is worrying in that sense. But he biggest thing is the people I'm loosing.

As I've mentioned I was a PC Tech. The way Firedog works at Circuit City is that we operated in a small team. At any given time there was 3-5 of us, and for months I worked with just one other guy. Ironically we where born and grew up in the same areas. Hell there where a few days years ago we where no more than a mile away before we even met in medford years later. Ironic huh?

I befriended and was promoted by a manager who was a thief and was fired, and two supervisors who should have ran the place from the get-go.

I trained over 15 people in the time I worked there. 3 Technicians, and many sales associates. Learning a little bit from each of them, and learning about myself and how to teach every month.

I strengthened a relationship with a person who I hope I can hold on to forever. Without this job I may have lost that all important excuse to chat with her without anyone knowing.

Going back to just a student at a school in single file rows with no real contact with anyone for no real reason is almost unbearable

Associate Going Away Party

Devon Mackabee, one of our supervisors is leaving for the military, so naturally we threw a going away party. The party ended up being a going away party for all of us because it's so close to the end. All and all it was a fun party and it was nice for everyone to hang out without worrying about work

The Shitty (Pardon my Language)

So, the vulgar title is only to match the name of my current place of work, "The City" or Circuit City. The reason I would call it something like that is simply because it has become that. Working there is now a nightmare. Supervisors have lost their teeth and keys, even managers have little to no power. Our store director is missing for the most part, and the liquidation manager is to busy taking picture and promoting our 'carnival like' atmosphere. I bet he's the clown the last week. Over all the place has gone down hill, the associates help when they feel the need to, or when they have nothing else to do. Customers who are usually waited on hand and foot are now insulted for being so demanding. Only managers have keys, so if you want an Ipod then get ready to wait for a while as our managers are currently in the back doing jack shit, but lucky for you one of our supervisors will try to get the keys from them... it'll only take a while

Good Night CCity

Today Circuit City said they are selling the business. We have two possible buy outs going on that need to be solved before the 13th or the company will go up for bidding ending the 16th. If we are not purchased by the 16th we will go into 'liquidation' meaning that if not solved by the 16th all techs are laid off....

That's Jayson, Josh, Josh, Steve, Seth, Robert, and all of the Home Entertainment Techs... and me. The Circuit City Techs that make life easier for so many local Medford people. Gone.

It is possible we will get purchased as a whole, and not restructured too much and I might have a job for a while longer.

I sure hope so, getting layed off a few days after my birthday would be a drag

Now to break all this talk of lay offs and doom with some tech joy!
Trillian Astra! I finally got a beta copy!
I have to say it is one awesome chat client, it looks nice, runs smooth, supports every IM system I could ever want, has fun widgets... It's excellent.

When it is released I'd recommend checking it out!
